Wedding of the Year 2010: James & Beth

One Last Look at the year that was 2009

As I've already mentioned to the group during the Christmas Party, the year 2009 was a challenging year not only for me, but for everyone. I do not want to mark it as a "difficult" year because it wasn't always hard... there were victories and wonderful gifts received all throughout and the lessons learned were more than enough to forget the pains and sacrifices made.

First Quarter, marked my first year of marriage to Boboy and it was the end of my first trimester of pregnancy... We made a life altering decision of moving back to Gensan. I resigned from ONB (after seven long and wonderful years) and joined the regional office of DBP as a contractual. SAid my goodbyes to wonderful officemates and my long-time live-in partner --- Sandy. At this point, she was already preparing for her own wedding. Gaga was then nursing a broken heart.

Second Quarter was a good season. Sandy got married and I gave birth to Aleeza Erelah. If I remember it right, it was also during this quarter that we finally got the chance to meet Adrian's girlfriend, Cherry.... We had a great first impression of her...(I guess everyone will agree that she's already approved by PAMET.)

Third Quarter was lonely. Sandy went to Singapore to join Elmer and in the process, got separated from the work she was doing for several, several years. We had Aleeza baptized and Eljoie was able to attend, but not Reynald, Alex, and Weng. It was the start of Vince's eviction. Well, I guess it started out sometime back but it was only then that it became very obvious. Then, Typhoon Ondoy hit the country and there we saw Alex's things floating through the murky waters. Sad, indeed. I don't know if I got it right, but I guess, it was during this quarter that Reynald got promoted and finally was able to be permanently based in Manila. Then, Boboy got the job we've been really praying for for months.Well, at least there were some good news during this quarter.

Fourth Quarter. Alex got broken hearted. Libeth announced her upcoming wedding. Gaga announced she was pregnant. All too overwhelming... I finally got my regularization memo approved and Sandy's Pass was approved too... Weng got promoted...Just before the year ends, the good news started showing up. I believe these are signs that 2010 is a good year for all of us. All we need to do is to just give it all our best shot. Aim high and hit the mark!

2009 was indeed a challenging year. It is the year when God really showed me what His Divine Providence is all about.

To all of you my dear great, wonderful LMS, thank you for the year that was 2009 --- for being such a great part of my life... Here's to more great years of great friendship!
